LifeFlight airlifts boy after dirtbike crash

The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a teenage boy to hospital after a dirtbike crash in the Gladstone region.

The patient was riding on a private property when the incident occurred.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 12.05pm and landed in a clearing near the incident scene.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics worked with the LifeFlight critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedic to treat the patient for life-threatening head injuries.

He was taken to Bundaberg Hospital for further treatment.
