Injured man airlifted after motor vehicle incident

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew airlifted a man to hospital this morning, after he was injured in a motor vehicle incident.

It is believed the car he was driving collided with a truck on a stretch of highway in the Somerset region.

The aeromedical team were tasked to the scene at around 6am and were able to land the chopper beside the road.

The LifeFlight medical team worked with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the man on scene for multiple injuries.

The patient, aged in his 20s, was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
