Two choppers attend horror crash at Fraser Island

The Sunshine Coast and Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopters have airlifted three survivors, from a horrific, single vehicle rollover.

It’s reported, the crashed occurred shortly after 7am today (July 26th), when the driver lost control of his 4WD while travelling along the beach, at Fraser Island.

The rescue choppers were sent to the scene shortly after, with both pilots able to land their aircraft on the beach, close to the accident scene.

Emergency services, including the Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Police Service were already in attendance, when the two RACQ LifeFlight Rescue teams arrived.

The Sunshine Coast aeromedical crew airlifted a man, aged is his twenties, with multiple injuries to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.

The Bundaberg team flew two male patients, to Hervey Bay Hospital.
