RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts injured motocross rider

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted an injured man, after he crashed his bike at a motocross park, near Gympie, yesterday (July 5th).

It’s believed the man had been attempting a jump, when the bike encountered a mechanical issue, forcing it to nose dive into the ground.

He was thrown approximately 10 metres from where the bike had landed.

The rescue chopper was sent to the scene at 12pm (July 5th).

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics worked alongside the aeromedical team to treat the man, aged in his twenties, for multiple injuries.

He was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
