Critically injured teen airlifted after being kicked by a horse

The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a teenager to hospital, after she was kicked in the face by a horse, in the Southern Downs. 

It’s believed she had been leading the animal when she was injured.

The rescue chopper was called into action at 9am.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were on scene, treating the patient, when the aeromedical team arrived. 

The teenager was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, in a critical but stable condition, under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic.
