Man injured in chainsaw accident

The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a man to hospital, after he injured himself with a chainsaw this afternoon (Sun 13th).

The patient was up a ladder, cutting a gum tree on his property in the Lockyer Valley region, when the incident occurred.

He fell from the ladder, sustaining multiple injuries from both the chainsaw and the fall.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked just after 1:30pm and landed in a neighbouring property’s backyard.

Two ambulances from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) were already on scene, treating the patient, and transported him to the rescue chopper.

He was then flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
