LifeFlight SGAS chopper airlifts injured motorcyclist

The Roma-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter has airlifted a man, after a motorbike accident, on a rural property, this afternoon.

The rescue helicopter was called to the scene, in the Maranoa region, just after 1.30pm.

The aeromedical crew worked with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the man for injuries to his chest.

The rider, aged in his 40s, was then flown to Roma Hospital, in a stable condition.

He travelled under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and a LifeFlight Paramedic.

The LifeFlight SGAS helicopter performed the mission, as part of the SGAS partners commitment to assisting in providing the south west region and beyond, with community aeromedical coverage, by donating 150 flying hours each year.
