LifeFlight airlifts trail bike rider to hospital

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew was tasked to K’gari on the Fraser Coast at 11:15am today following a trail bike incident.

It’s believed the male rider had been travelling in a group of riders when he lost control of his trail bike in sand and crashed into a tree.

The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) attended the scene and transported the patient to a nearby helipad.

When the aeromedical crew arrived the critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedic worked alongside local QAS paramedics treating the male rider for chest, pelvic & leg injuries.

The man, aged in his 30s, was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
