Injured motorbike rider airlifted from Fraser Island

The Bundaberg RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a man to hospital, after he reportedly crashed his motorbike on Fraser Island, this morning (Saturday 6th March).

The rescue helicopter was sent to the island, just before 11am.

It’s believed the male rider, in his 50s, was attempting to ride from a beach to a resort, when he lost control and was thrown over the handlebars.

A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedic was on the scene, when the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed.

The patient was treated for shoulder and rib injuries, before being flown to the Bundaberg Base Hospital, in a stable condition.
