The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital following a two-vehicle crash in the Southern Downs.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 7:45am by Retrieval Services Queensland to the New England Highway and landed on the road, which was closed to traffic by the Queensland Police Service (QPS).
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat a male in his 40s for facial, neck and chest injuries.
He was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.
Two other patients suffered minor injuries and were road transported to a nearby hospital by QAS.
