The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today winched a woman from K’gari after a medical incident.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 3pm to a lake on the island and inserted the medical team onto the sand dunes.
It is believed an off-duty paramedic from Victoria found a woman in her 30s on the dunes unresponsive and administered first aid.
The patient and medical team were winched back into the helicopter, and she was airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight helicopter and crew service the Wide Bay-Burnett region and beyond.
