LifeFlight airlifts injured runner to hospital

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today winched a woman after she was injured running in a state forest.

The woman in her 30s was trail running when she tripped and fell.

The helicopter was tasked at 9.45am to a state forest in the Sunshine Coast region.

A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic and LifeFlight rescue crewman were winched down to the patient.

They were winched back to the helicopter and the patient was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with significant leg injuries.
