Rescue chopper airlifts injured motorcyclist

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital this afternoon, after he was injured in a motorcycle incident.

It’s believed the man lost control of the motorcycle he was riding.

The aeromedical service was called into action at around 1pm to the Sunshine Coast region.

The pilot was able to safely land the aircraft on a grassy area near the scene.

Local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treated the patient before transferring him into the care of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic.

The patient suffered injuries to his pelvis and chest and was flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
