The Bundaberg RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has airlifted a man to hospital after his motorbike hit a kangaroo while he was riding with a friend in the North Burnett region.
The chopper was called into action around 12.30 this afternoon. (Sat 15th July)
The pilot landed the aircraft in a large paddock surrounded by scrub about 100 metres from the dirt road where the accident happened.
Queensland Police Service and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) officers were on the scene.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic assisted in treating the patient, before the emergency service and aeromedical personnel joined forces to carry him on a stretcher to the waiting chopper.
The patient, who is aged in his fifties, was suffering suspected internal injuries when he was flown to Bundaberg Hospital.
