The Sunshine Coast LifeFlight helicopter crew has flown a teenager to hospital after he fell off the back of a ute being driven on a K’gari (Fraser Island) beach this afternoon.
It’s believed the young man was riding in the tray of the utility, when he fell from the moving vehicle.
He reportedly landed on his head and lost consciousness.
The rescue helicopter was called into action at 5.30pm (Fri, January 13) and landed on a beach, located on the western side of the island, a short time later.
The LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic treated the man for chest and head injuries.
He was flown in a stable condition to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
