Seriously injured driver airlifted to hospital after head-on crash into a tree

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has flown a seriously injured motorist to hospital, after she was involved in a head-on crash into a tree.

It’s believed the woman, who is aged in her 20s, suffered multiple injuries as a result.

The rescue chopper was tasked to the Bundaberg region just after midday.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue pilot landed the aircraft at a field near the scene, where the aeromedical crew met with local Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics to treat the patient.

The patient was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a serious but stable condition.
