RACQ LifeFlight Rescue joins search for missing man

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has been involved in a multi-agency search for a missing man, in the Tin Can Bay area, this afternoon.

The aircraft was called into action, by the Queensland Police Service (QPS), around 1.30pm, after the man had failed to arrive at his destination.

Police investigations indicate the car the man had been driving was involved in a minor single vehicle crash at an intersection, early this morning, before being abandoned.

The rescue crew was tasked to search the bushland, near where the car had been found, for any signs of the man.

They searched for around an hour and a half, but didn’t spot the missing man.

State Emergency Service (SES) personnel have also been involved in the search, on the ground.
