Injured rider airlifted after dirt bike accident

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown an injured motorcyclist to hospital, after an accident at a dirt bike track, this afternoon.

The aeromedical crew was tasked to the scene, north-west of Gympie, just after 12.30pm.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic treated the rider for back injuries.

The man, aged in his 30s, was then airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

He travelled in a stable condition.
