The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew has airlifted a woman to hospital, after she was seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident, yesterday evening (8th August).
The rescue chopper was called to the scene, west of Ipswich, just after 9:20pm.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Pilot was able to land the aircraft on the highway, which had been closed by Queensland Police Service (QPS).
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) were also on the scene, when the aeromedical team arrived.
It’s believed the patient, aged in her 50s, was trapped in one of the crashed vehicles, for a period of time, before being freed.
She was treated for multiple injuries, before being airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital, in a serious but stable condition.
