Motorcyclist critical after crashing into guard rail

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man to hospital after he was critically injured in a motorbike crash, earlier today.

It’s believed he was riding along a road, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, when he lost control of his bike and smashed into the guard rail.

The chopper was sent to the scene shortly before 11am (May 13), where the pilot was able to land the aircraft in a nearby paddock.

The aeromedical team worked alongside paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) to treat the man, aged in his fifties, for multiple injuries.

He was transported in a critical condition to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
