The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man to hospital, after he was injured in a two-vehicle crash this afternoon. (Sat 28th)
The cars collided at a bend, on a country road in the Gympie region, just before 3pm.
The rescue helicopter was called to respond and landed in a paddock, close to the crash site.
The injured driver of one of the vehicles was treated by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics, before he was moved to the waiting helicopter.
The patient, aged in his twenties, was in a serious but stable condition, when he was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, suffering suspected chest injuries.
