It’s believed the patient had been fighting fires, when he was injured.
The rescue chopper was called to the scene, north of Bundaberg, just after 4 o’clock.
Conditions in the region were extremely smokey.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were on the scene, when the chopper arrived.
The man was assessed by LifeFlight’s Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic, before being flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition.
