Toowoomba’s RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew has winched a woman, after she fell several metres down a mountain, this morning.
The rescue helicopter was called to an area, south east of Toowoomba, just after 8:30am.
It’s believed the woman, aged in her 30s, had been hiking, when she slipped and fell approximately five metres.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics initially treated the woman for an ankle injury, before the aeromedical team arrived.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) firefighters were also in attendance.
A QAS Flight Paramedic was winched down to the scene, from the chopper, to assist with the treatment.
Due to the location of the patient, it was decided she would need to be winched up to the helicopter.
The patient was fitted with a harness, before being hoisted up to the chopper, accompanied by the QAS Flight Paramedic.
She was flown to Toowoomba Hospital, in a stable condition.
