The Toowoomba-based, RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a boy to hospital, after a trail bike accident today (Sun 26th Dec).
The rescue chopper flew to a remote property, in the Goondiwindi region, shortly after midday.
The pilot was able to land in a paddock close to the scene.
It’s believed the young boy had been riding with his father, when the bike’s front wheel got caught in eroded ground, causing him to lose control, and crash.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were first on scene, before the aeromedical team arrived.
The chopper crew and QAS officers treated the boy for suspected spinal injuries.
He was then airlifted to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition
