RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts man after ATV rollover

The Mount Isa-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man to hospital, after he was injured in an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) accident, north east of Mount Isa, Saturday afternoon (6th February).

It’s believed the man was driving the vehicle, when he lost control, causing it to roll.

The helicopter was tasked to the scene shortly after 4:35pm, where the pilot was able to land the helicopter close to the scene.

The aeromedical crew joined Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics in treating and stabilising the patient, before he was transferred to the helicopter, with the assistance of the Queensland Police Service and the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service.

He was flown to Mount Isa Hospital, under the care of an QAS Flight Paramedic.

He suffered leg injuries and travelled in a stable condition to hospital.
