Night of dancing and donations raises $40k for LifeFlight

The Morven Winter Ball Fundraiser has chosen LifeFlight South West to be the beneficiary of a generous $40,000 donation.

The Morven Progress Association and Morven Arts collaborated to host 160 people at the Ball, for a night of dancing and donations for the aeromedical organisation.

Held at the Morven Community Hall in the Shire of Murweh, it was the first Ball since 2019, with a record-breaking sum of money raised.

At The Lee Family and Australian Country Choice LifeFlight Centre, located in Roma, LifeFlight South West Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) chair Kate Scott accepted the cheque on behalf of the organisation.

“It just really shows you how powerful and generous the communities in rural and remote areas are,” she said.

“To raise this sum of money is no small feat. LifeFlight services the Morven area and it’s been wonderful to connect with this passionate and generous community.”

The funds will help support LifeFlight’s commitment in providing medical care to the South West regions and beyond.

The Morven community is supported by LifeFlight’s Roma SGAS helicopter, based at the Lee Family and Australian Country Choice LifeFlight Centre.

The SGAS partners generously donate 150 flying hours each year to assure the Toowoomba and Roma communities of aeromedical coverage.

LifeFlight South West Ambassador and Morven Ball Committee member Louise Winten was thrilled with the outcome of the event.

“We’re blown away by the whole community and generosity of everyone that helped us raise this amount of money,” she said.
