The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a boy to hospital, after he was stood on by a horse, earlier today.
The rescue chopper was sent to the scene, in the Gympie region, where the pilot was able to land the helicopter in a paddock, near where the accident occurred.
The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) was first on scene and initially treated the boy.
A RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic stabilised the young patient, before he was airlifted.
He’d suffered a broken leg and was flown in a serious but stable condition to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
