A paraglider has been airlifted to hospital after crashing his aircraft in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called in shortly after 6:15pm.(Sunday 14th Nov)
The pilot was able to land at the crash scene.
It is not known what caused the paraglider to crash, but he is believed to have fallen approximately 20 metres, before hitting the ground.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) officers were on scene when the rescue chopper arrived.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care doctor and QAS flight paramedic, worked alongside QAS paramedics to treat the patient for multiple traumatic injuries.
The injured man, who is aged in his fifties, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.
