Teenager airlifted after being crushed in quad bike rollover

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew has airlifted a teenage boy to hospital, after he was injured in a quad bike rollover, this morning.

The rescue chopper was called to a private property, in the Gympie region, at 9:15am.

It’s believed the boy had been riding a quad bike along a creek bank, when he lost control, causing the vehicle to roll.

His upper body was crushed, before the quad bike continued rolling and landed, upside down, in the creek.

He was able to raise the alarm, himself.

Several Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) crews were on the scene, when the aeromedical team arrived.

The patient was treated for upper body injuries, before being flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition.
