The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted an elderly man to hospital, after he was injured by a quad bike, yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 29th September).
It’s believed the patient, aged in his 90s, had parked the vehicle on high ground, before moving to lower ground to complete some work.
The quad bike’s breaks reportedly then disengaged, resulting in it rolling down a hill and hitting the man.
The rescue chopper was called to the area, north of Oakey, just after 5pm.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were treating the patient for upper body injuries, when the aeromedical team arrived.
He was flown to Toowoomba Hospital, in a stable condition, under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic.
