Emergency services work together to treat critically injured driver

The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter has flown a man to hospital, after he was critically injured in a single vehicle crash, last night (Tues 15th September).

It’s believed the patient, aged in his 20s, was driving west of Toowoomba, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed, just after 9:30pm.

He was reportedly thrown from the car, on impact, suffering multiple injuries.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue aeromedical team initially treated the patient at the scene, before he was taken to the Clive Berghofer LifeFlight Centre, in Toowoomba, in a QAS vehicle.

At the LifeFlight hangar, the man received further treatment from an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor, QAS Flight Paramedic and several QAS road paramedics.

The patient was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
