The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital, after two trucks crashed on the Bruce Highway near Banya.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 1:39pm and landed on the highway near the scene.
In a multi-agency response, the incident was attended by Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Fire Department (QFD) crews.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and QAS flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for head and limb injuries.
The man, in his 50s, was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
