Teenage Motocross rider airlifted

It is believed that the Brisbane-based rider suffered suspected spinal injuries after he landed awkwardly off a jump, and was injured further when his bike came to rest on top of him.

The young man was transported to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition, where the extent of his injuries will be assessed.

This is the second time the Maroochydore-based rescue helicopter has been activated to transport a motocross rider this week. On Sunday, a  43-year-old Toowoomba man was airlifted from an off-road motorbike accident at Manar Park, 200kms west of Gympie.
