More than 30 boats, adorned with lights and Christmas decorations, will work their way from The Wharf at La Balsa to The Wharf at Mooloolaba from 6:30pm until 8:30pm.
CareFlights Relationship Manager, Angela Miles, says 100% of the proceeds will be donated to RACQ CareFlight Rescue the Sunshine Coasts local helicopter rescue service.
This annual event, organised by the Mooloolaba Yacht Club, is a great night out for the whole family and a bit different to your usual Christmas events, she said.
The convoy attracts an array of yachts, power boats, outriggers, party boats and catamarans.
All the participants go all out, covering their boats in lights, tinsel, inflatable Santas, giant baubles you name it.
Spectators can see the merry maritime display from three main vantage points including Sir Charles Clarke Park, Penny Lane Park and La Balsa Park.
There are lots of other smaller parks dotted around the canals which will also make for great viewing locations, she said.
CareFlight volunteers will be there on the night selling raffle tickets with the major prize a flight for two in a fixed-wing aircraft courtesy of our friends at the Sunshine Coast AeroClub at Maroochydore Airport, Angela said.
We encourage families to bring a picnic and line the canals to watch the show. But please keep an eye out for our volunteers shaking the donation tins, she said.
Prizes will be awarded for best dressed boat and best decorated canal-front home as well as a colour in competition for the kids.
