Young man critically injured in head-on accident

It is believed that the car the man was travelling in was struck at speed when it turned into the path of another vehicle while leaving the highway.
The man, in his mid-20s, was entrapped in his vehicle, and was freed by emergency services personnel once they arrived on the scene.
He was assessed and found to have critical injuries; as a result, the Toowoomba RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to attend at 3.45pm.
The LifeFlight medical team worked with paramedics to stabilise the man for transport, before ferrying him through to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
He travelled in a critical condition.
It is believed two other patients were transported from the scene by the Queensland Ambulance Service. Condition of these patients are unknown at this time.
