The child collided with another rider and suffered a fractured right leg and pelvic injuries.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter’s Intensive Care Paramedic assisted the Queensland Ambulance Service Paramedic to treat the young boy’s injuries and administered pain relief.
He was treated on the scene and was airlifted in a stable condition. The boy’s mother also flew with him to Bundaberg Base Hospital.
2016-17 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,342 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
