CareFlight’s Bundaberg-based helicopter was called in just before 2pm today, landing at the Happy Valley Ambulance Station within 15 minutes to treat the 21-year-old woman for a suspected spinal injury.
A QAS Flight Paramedic on board CareFlight’s helicopter treated and stabilised the patient before airlifting her to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
Bundaberg is one of four RACQ CareFlight Rescue bases servicing Queensland.
In the Wide Bay-Burnett region alone, CareFlight’s community helicopter service attended 432 missions last year, which accounts for 31 per cent of the not-for-profit organisation’s total missions.
