Woman airlifted after falling up to 50 metres

The 37 year old was believed to be walking along the cliff when she slipped and fell some time before 2.30pm this afternoon.
The Surat Basin Gas Industry Aeromedical Service helicopter operated by CareFlight was tasked to her aid, landing at a riverbed at the base of the cliff.

She also sustained minor cuts and abrasions.

She was loaded on-board the rescue helicopter and airlifted to Toowoomba Base Hospital.
She travelled in a stable condition.
The Surat Basin Gas Industry Aeromedical Service began flying in April 2011, to minimise impacts on community medical services in Queensland’s far south west.

The Service donates the aircraft to the community for emergencies such as these and airlifted nearly 150 seriously ill or injured residents in that time.
