Both male patients, aged 60 and 70, each sustained serious burns to approximately 33% of their bodies.
They are both believed to be in a serious condition, and were transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane with the jet touching down at 6:44pm on Thursday evening.
At 2.00am Wednesday, the same CareFlight Air Ambulance jet transported a female burns patient from Townsville to Brisbane as a result of the same explosion.
CareFlight doctors were among the first responders to attend to patients in the aftermath of the explosion, arriving on the scene on-board Cairns and Townsville-based rescue aircraft.
