Two patients airlifted after single vehicle rollover

The rescue crew was called into action just after 6 o’clock.

The patients had been travelling in a car, with a third person, when it’s believed a tyre blew, causing the vehicle to roll.

A man and woman, both aged in their twenties, suffered multiple injuries.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics initially treated the pair on scene, before taking them to Surat Hospital to meet the rescue chopper.

The pair was then airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital, both in a stable condition.

Due to the distance of the mission (900km return), the Roma crew had to stop at Brisbane airport to refuel, before flying back to base.  There they passed RACQ LifeFlight Rescue’s Brisbane crew, which is based at the airport.
