Two cars hit trees in separate accidents

Early Thursday afternoon a vehicle with two passengers hit a tree near Esk. 

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treated both patients at the scene before transferring them to Esk hospital.

The areomedical crew then transferred the young child to the Lady Cilento Children’s hospital and an elderly woman to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Both were transferred in a serious but stable condition.

This morning the Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted an elderly man after the vehicle he was travelling in hit a tree off the D’Aguilar highway.

All four occupants were treated at the scene by QAS paramedics and three occupants were transferred by road to hospital. 

The man was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
