Trail Bike rider winched after serious accident

A friend of the rider jumped in the helicopter at a campsite close by the scene to direct the crew to the scene, as the canopy of the forest was very thick.

Once overhead the crew winched the Intensive Care Flight Paramedic and Doctor to the scene. The male rider in his late forties suffered leg, chest and arm injuries after riding down a track. He was stablised and airlifted in a stretcher into the aircraft.

He was then airlifted to Nambour Hospital in a serious condition.
