Trail bike rider airlifted from rural township

It is believed a man in his 50s suffered chest and shoulder injuries as a result of an off-road trail bike accident shortly after 12.00pm.

The man was driven to the centrally located Grand Hotel Many Peaks by a friend, before the CareFlight helicopter was dispatched to airlift the patient out.

With the aid of a local Queensland Ambulance Service paramedic, the CareFlight medical team was able to assess and treat the man at a local school oval.

The patient was then flown to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.
This is the second trail bike accident CareFlight crews have attended to in the past 24 hours, following yesterday’s task at Manar Park.
