It’s been a busy morning for RACQ CareFlight Rescue crews in Bundaberg with the service attending two separate motor vehicle accidents before 9am.
In the first incident, three people were taken to hospital following a serious crash on the Bruce Highway at Childers near Apple Tree Creek this morning.
A four wheel drive ran into the back of a parked semi-trailer at high impact.
RACQ CareFlight’s Bundaberg-based helicopter landed at the scene to treat the passenger of the four wheel drive for a fractured left arm and left femur. The crew then flew the patient to Bundaberg Base Hospital for further treatment.
The man who was working on the parked semi-trailer at the time of the crash sustained an injury to his foot and was transported to Bundaberg Base Hospital by the Queensland Ambulance Service. The driver of the four wheel drive was also transported by road for further treatment.
In the second incident, the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was also sent to Bundaberg to airlift a man in his 20s involved in a scooter crash.
The man was riding a scooter on a property when it crashed into a parked tractor. The patient sustained sustaining multi-trauma injuries.
He was flown from Bundaberg Base Hospital to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a stable condition.
