Two patients – a woman and a man – were airlifted by RACQ LifeFlight Rescue following unrelated traffic accidents.
A woman in her 70s was airlifted with suspected internal injuries following a motor vehicle accident.
A man, also in his 70s, was airlifted after he sustained multi-trauma injuries to his upper limbs, including his face, while riding his bicycle.
Both patients were airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
A third patient was airlifted from Stanthorpe Hospital to Brisbane with a cardiac condition.
2016-17 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,252 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
