Sydney man airlifted from Fraser Island

The man sustained the injury after running down a steep sand dune and falling on his shoulder.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue Pilot Peter Marris said a young child came out in front of the man while he was running.

The Bundaberg RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the Orchid Beach airstrip on Fraser Island shortly after 3pm today.

The man was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.

This is the second airlift from Fraser Island in two days.
