Organiser Jody Crowley said the event raised $6000 for the lifesaving helicopter rescue service in 2012 and they were hoping to smash that record this year.
“I created the pig races a few years ago to give back to the organisations which saved my granddaughter’s life.
“My newborn granddaughter Summah was struggling to survive after suffering from respiratory complications and CareFlight came to her rescue on several occasions to help her through her dramatic start to life.
“The CareFlight doctors, paramedics and pilots are nothing but angels in our eyes and we love knowing the Sandy Creek Pub Pig Races will enable them to continue their lifesaving work.”
Gates will open at 1.30pm, the pig races will officially kick off at 2.30pm and the day will wrap up around 10.30pm.
The event will feature six races every hour, three local bands, rides for the kids and Noah’s Farm petting zoo.
Pre-sale tickets are available at the Sandy Creek Hotel for $10 and tickets purchased on the day are $15 at the gate.
