South West businesses get behind ball

The Cirque du CareFlight circus-themed gala event will be held at the Toowoomba Showgrounds on Saturday 26th May 2012 but the event wouldn’t be possible without the support of several local businesses.

The latest sponsors – G & K Lawson Constructions in Toowoomba – have pledged an incredible $10,000 towards RACQ CareFlight’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

CareFlight’s Corinne Ross says G & K Lawson Constructions Founder Greg Lawson has been a long time supporter of the service.

“We want to thank Greg and G & K Lawson Constructions for their generous contribution to our cause,” she said.

“It’s incredible to see how many lives the CareFlight service has touched and how readily the community wants to give back.

“Other generous businesses have already donated money to bring the total to $33,000 already, which is fantastic.

“We’ve had the Toowoomba Chronicle come on board as a media partner which will help publicise the event and, in turn, raise more funds which we are very grateful for.

“Sponsorship opportunities are still available so please contact 4633 7299 if you or your business can help out.”

The other businesses that have donated so far are; Burke Industries – $2,500 Budget – $2,500 Wickham Freight Lines – $5,000 New Hope Coal – $5,000 Fernwood – $5,000 Ashburner Francis – $2,500 G & K Lawson Constructions – $10,000 Adelaide Bragg – $500.

Tickets to the Gala Ball are $160.00 per person.

Every year RACQ CareFlight’s iconic blue and yellow choppers help hundreds of sick and injured patients.

After nearly three decades, RACQ CareFlight’s biggest supporters are still the communities of southern QLD which contribute almost half of the service’s funding.
