Snakebite victim drives himself to help

The victim, aged in his 30s, had pulled over on the highway to check his car, when he was bitten by a suspected brown snake.
Luckily, he was able to drive himself to a nearby house, where the owners could raise the alarm.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were first on the scene and stabilised the man for transport.
The Toowoomba RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed shortly after and airlifted him to Toowoomba Hospital.
He travelled in a stable condition.

The 2017-2018 financial year was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,452 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
