A SES Volunteer has been winched after injuring herself on a quad bike whilst searching for a missing person.
The RACQ CareFlight Sunshine Coast’s rescue helicopter was tasked at 10:30 am to an area North of Mt Mee where SES Volunteers were searching on foot and quad bikes for a Sunshine Coast man that has been missing since Wednesday of last week.
The volunteer in her mid forties had been searching very hilly terrain on a quad bike when the bike slipped and it rolled onto her leg injuring her knee.
Due to the area the Flight Intensive Care Paramedic and Doctor walked into where the patient was, to treat her for her injury and to prepare her to be winched from the scene.
After being stablised the rescue helicopter hovered above and winched the patient onboard the aircraft where they transported her to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.
